The School of Information and Communication Technology, Gautam Buddha
University, Greater Noida was established in 2009. The School of Information and
Communication Technology started Ph. D. programme in 2010 and school offers
Ph.D. programme twice in a year. The Ph D programme is structured in two phases.
Phase one includes Course Work (pre-doctoral) and phase two includes the
research work. The candidates will be required to complete course work
equivalent to 8-12 credits or more as decided by the School of Information and
Communication Technology before applying for approval of the Research Proposal
by the Research Degree Committee (RDC). The minimum duration for submitting the
thesis will not be less than two years and the maximum period will not exceed
five years from the date of approval of RDC.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Ph.D. for Working Professionals
Qualification: Master’s in Engineering or Technology in major areas of
Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering with
60% marks (55% in case of SC/ST) in qualifying exams obtained from any of the
universities/institutions established and/or approved by law.
Experience: A candidate should have two years research/teaching
experience in an institute of higher learning/central laboratory or equivalent
experience in industry at an appropriate level as on last date of submission of
application form. The candidate is also required to produce a letter of consent
from the current employer for providing sufficient facilities and time for
conducting the research work.
Desirable: Papers published/ presented at national/ international
conferences and journals.
Areas for Research: Software Engineering, Intelligent Systems and
Robotics, Wireless Communication and Networks, VLSI Design
2. Ph.D. Full Time Programme
Qualification: Master’s in Engineering or Technology in major areas of
