The School presently comprises two departments namely:

1. Department of Social Sciences

The department imparts advanced education and training in the social sciences discipline. The courses offered expose students to both interdisciplinary as well as multidisciplinary subjects. Many of the important issues in development such as industrialization, population growth, and democratization fall on the boundaries between different disciplines, including economics, history, politics, law, anthropology, psychology, sociology, social work and geography leading to blending of an integrated inter-disciplinary perspective with the analytical rigour required of social scientists today. The department propounds Buddhist ethics leading to superior thinking and living for sustainable development.

The research interests of the School are wide-ranging and the department offers PhD program across many areas of sociology, social work, public policy, applied psychology, education development studies, international relations and history. In particular, the school combines the study of social theory and social processes with empirical analysis, including analysis of social problems and public policy.

2. Department of Language, Literature and Culture

The department fosters an interface between the real life situations and science & technology. It endeavours to develop understanding of the nuances of our own culture as well as contemporary cultures. The department contributes in stimulating aesthetic values through literature and languages. It holds the unparalleled distinction of having omnipresence in the university as it equips the students with communication skills that transcends a single academic field. It is the cornerstone of learning and research. The department is the intrinsic proposition of grooming intellect having an exciting, challenging and rewarding environment for research.
