Prof R. K. Sinha completed M.Sc. Physics from IIT Kharagpur in 1984 and Ph.D. (Fiber Optics and Optoelectronics ) from IIT Delhi in 1990. He did his Post-Doctoral Research at Osaka and Kobe University in Japan and at I.I.Sc Bangalore during 1989-1991. He has worked at BITS Pilani, REC/NIT Hamirpur H.P. and at DCE/DTU-Delhi. He has established TIFAC-Center of Relevance and Excellence in Fiber Optics and Optical Communication under Technology Vision 2020 Program, Conceptualized and Executed B.Tech. Engineering Physics, M.Tech.(MOCE) and M.Tech. (NST)) at DTU Delhi. Prof Sinha has published over 380 research papers in Journals (174) and Conference Proceedings (206) and 07 book chapters and 03 books, originated 06 patents, supervised 22 sponsored projects and 20 Doctoral thesis. He is a Fellow of International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), Fellow of IETE and Fellow of the OSI. He has served as Director of CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh, CEERI Pilani and IMTECH Chandigarh. He has mentored over 39 Technology development and transfer to the Industry.

He is recipient of Research Excellence Award of DTU for the year 2020, 2021 & 2022, Gold- Skoch Award for Defence Technology 2020 and CSIR Technology Award 2018. He is also a recipient of Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship 2013 as International Educational Administrator, Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) Fellowship 2008, JSPS Fellowship and Japanese Govt. Scholarship besides several awards for his research work. Currently, he is serving as Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, UP on deputation from DTU Delhi. His research interests include Photonic Crystal and Metamaterial based Nano-Photonic Devices for Tele-come and Sensing Applications. He is recognized as top 2% scientists in the world in Optoelectronics and Photonics based on publications originated by Stanford University Faculty.
