Gautam Buddha University, established by the UP Act (9) of 2002, commenced its first academic session at its 511 acres lush green campus at Greater Noida in August 2008. The University is funded by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNOIDA). The University encourages multidimensional growth through its education and training. The emphasis is laid on inculcating a sense of responsibility in the young minds and inspiring them to harness these skills for developing a dynamic, dependable, and entrepreneurial model for sustainable growth of the society. A tireless quest for knowledge, exploration, and intellectual excellence make us distinct from the rest.

The University envisions to become a world class center for excellence in education with a special focus to serve the under privileged, economically challenged and down trodden sections of the society. The academic programmes, designed in line with the best universities around the world, combine the best practices of pedagogy and class room teaching, complemented by practical training and experiential learning.

The University is modeled in line with some of the best institutions of higher learning around the world. The uniqueness of its reputation is acknowledged through the format,content and pedagogy of its programmes and their relevance to the society. Academic Programmes

Our Vision and Mission are carried out by our accomplished faculty, recruited and groomed in accordance with the practices in reputed national and international institutions. Apart from them we also have visiting faculty and guest speakers of high credentials addressing our students regularly. The academic Programmes, designed in line with the best universities around the world, combine the best practices of pedagogy and class room teaching, complemented by practical training and experiential learning. The University cultivates vision and encourages growth with a sense of responsibility to harness it for the multidimensional growth of the society. A tireless quest for knowledge and exploration, intellectual excellence, and inculcation of eternal human values makes us distinct from the rest.

In order to promote value-based education, research and training, the University has established eight schools of learning, which are:

• School of Management
• School of Information & Communication Technology,
• School of Law, Justice & Governance
• School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences
• School of Biotechnology, 
• School of Engineering
• School of Buddhist Studies & Civilization
• School of Humanities & Social Sciences

Out of these eight Schools, seven Schools are functional and the School of Law, Justice, & Governance shall be functional in the academic year 2012-13. In addition to these eight schools of learning the University has established a Centre for Buddhist Studies and Research.
