Special lecture on Indian Knowledge System in Social and Human Sciences was held on 16 April 2025

The school of humanities and social sciences, under the aegis of Dean Prof. Bandana Pandey, organised a special lecture on the theme of ‘Indian Knowledge System in Social and Human Sciences’ on 16 th April. Prof. Dhananjay Singh, member secretary, Indian Council of Social Science Research, was the special guest invited as speaker on the occasion. Prof. Dhananjay Singh, in his speech, discussed about the importance of understanding the very term indigenous knowledge system and what it means in Indian context. He stated that we must be cautious about the usage of definite words in this context. He focused on the idea of text and stated that spirituality and materiality are not mutually exclusive in Indian tradition. Prof Singh’s speech was followed by question answer session where students and faculty members interacted with him in a lively discussion session.
